Importance of Sports Club in College

For children, exercising regularly comes with many benefits, not only developing healthy bodies. Studies have shown that sports clubs and organised sporting activities equip children with plenty of skills that will aid them throughout their time in school, and onto later life. So how do sports clubs benefit children?

Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds:
Regular exercise for children has been shown to improve performance at school as it can burn excess energy, allowing them to fully concentrate when they need to. By getting involved in sports at a young age, children will be developing a healthy habit that will continue into adult life, when the importance of having a healthy body and a healthy mind increases.

Self-esteem:
Studies have shown that children who are involved in sports increase in confidence, an important factor in child development. Sporting activities enable children to trust their own abilities through encouragement and praise and teaches them how to learn from constructive criticism.

Social Skills:
Through partaking in structured activities such as sports clubs, children show lower levels of antisocial behaviour. Having fun and exercising with other children has shown to increase the development of positive peer relations, as well as gaining respect for authority through interactions with coaches and those running sessions. For children, developing social skills at an early age will benefit them throughout their life.

Skill Building:
Sports clubs enable children to develop skills that will help them in school, in their personal lives and in future careers. Key skills such as leadership, problem-solving, responsibility and a sense of initiative are all developed through sporting activities with peers.

With the wide range of clubs,as part of a school curriculum or our extra-curricular activities such as holiday clubs and lunchtime sessions, we can help children develop and gain skills that will be beneficial to them throughout their lives. Our popular parent and child sessions, Fit Families, allow children to follow a parents' example in a class that is modified to fit all ages and is fun for all the family.
