An Outstanding Study Tour with DIC students
Study tour, a break from routine classroom settings, injects enthusiasm and excitement into the learning process. In fact, study tours can inspire students, reignite their passion for their field of study, and motivate them to explore further. In order to fulfil this purpose, Daffodil International College arranged a study tour at Bangabandhu Military Museum for its students' holistic development.
On 27 May 2023, the students of class XI (session: 2022-23) along with their teachers started for Bangabandhu Military Museum at 9.30 am. The museum is located at Bijoy Sarani, Dhaka. It has a collection of Bangladesh's military history, heritage, success stories and various weapons and ammunition.
As the destination is not very far from college campus, we have decided to go on foot. While crossing Manik Mia Avenue, the juvenile students had some snaps in front of the Parliamentary Building. They were, really, excited and thrilled while marching towards the destination. We reached the museum at 10.30 am and found that some of my fellow students had already arrived at their most cherished destination.
After finishing the counting of the students, they entered the museum in a queue maintaining discipline and rules of the institution. While exploring the museum, they observed our heritage, success stories of our ancestors, wide implementation of Augmented Reality, Interactive Displays, Virtual Reality, Holograms etc.
The museum is divided into six sections, including the Bangladesh History Gallery on the ground floor, Bangladesh Army Gallery on the 2nd floor, Bangladesh Air Force gallery on the 3rd floor, UN Peacekeeping Gallery on the 4th floor, and Bangladesh Navy Gallery at the basement.
There is also a separate museum named "Toshakhana Jadughor" within the museum complex, where gifts and awards received by the country's important personnel have been showcased. A grand sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been placed in the middle of the "Toshakhana Jadughor".
Our students got amazed looking at the awesome architectural design and infrastructure inside the museum. The study tour came to an end almost at 1.00 pm. At the end of the tour, they experienced a heavy rainfall poured down the city which made the day more memorable for them. Due to excessive rainfall, we had to wait some more time at the museum. This study tour and the rainfall made the students refreshed by removing the monotony of academics.
Overall, it was an unforgettable outing of the teachers and the students which will remain forever in the memory and keep us invigorated again and again.
Finally, I would like to say that this kind of study tour offers unique opportunities for students to learn, grow, and develop both academically and personally. Moreover, it provides practical experiences through gaining knowledge and foster various skills that are essential to achieve success in the academic and professional spheres.
